Erica Devilbiss

Erica DeVilbiss is from Kansas City, Missouri.  While at MBU, she attends Red Tree Community Church.  She is a first year senior and is majoring in Middle School English Education.  In addition to school work and Faithful, Erica keeps busy playing volleyball and working in the Admissions Office. 

          Although the future holds a lot of questions for Erica, she does embrace goals and excitement for the now.  “I hope to see God use the women in this group, their stories, their past experiences, and their victories to bring glory to God by sharing these with younger women and girls.”  Along the same lines, her goal in ministry is telling her story and serving others in order to bless them.  In the Bible she admires David because “he is the most real character.  He says things how they are.”

 

- Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.  See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.  Psalm 139:23-24 -
 

Christine Davis is from St. Peters, Missouri, attends WayPoint Church in St. Peters, and is a sophomore at MoBap.  Christine began her college career as a Pharmacy major, but recently decided that God was leading her in a different direction; she is now majoring in Human Services.  And that makes sense because her passion is people, “Learning about them, loving them, supporting them, making them laugh, but mostly sharing the joy of the Lord and His love with them”.  In addition to a new major, Christine is also a new Christian.  She came to know Christ last year, and believes that God brought her to Faithful to provide opportunities, in places she would not be otherwise, to share her life story.  “My goal is to be a useful tool in God’s kingdom and let Him lead me and reach people in His timing and not to take circumstances and opportunities into my own hands,” she expressed. 

 

- I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances.  I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty.  I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want.  I can do everything through Him who gives me strength.  Philippians 4:11-13 -

 

 

Abbie Leslie, a sophomore at MoBap, has grown up in St. Louis, and is active at Trinity Presbyterian Church.  Abbie is majoring in Broadcast Media and Public Relations.  In addition to being a member of Faithful, she has plenty of activities to keep her busy.  She is the Chairman of Communications for the Student Activities Counsel and is a member of MBU’s traveling drama troupe, In Charactre. 

As a part of Faithful, Abbie would like to see God break her down and foster a spirit of unity in the group that is evident to every group of people that they encounter.  She also aims to be open and honest about her failures as a means to reveal God’s mercy to others, acknowledging that it is by grace that she has been saved.  Esther is one of Abbie’s favorite Bible characters because she sets a great example of being in the world, but not of the world, and hopes to follow that example in her own life. 

 

- You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again?  It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot by men.  Matthew 5:13 -
